Considerations

  • If you are considering the purchase of a beach box, there are some important things for you to consider:

  • Licensees are required to maintain the structure
  • Rates and charges are levied by the Mornington Peninsula Shire
  • Annual licence fee charged by the Committee of Management
  • Optional membership fee with the MPBBA
  • How you access your beach box

Licences and Policy

As you plan your purchase, we encourage you to review the conditions in the licence and relevant policies. It is important to understand your obligations and that you can meet these conditions. To find the most up to date policy relevant to your beach box, you should contact the relevant Committee of Management. The MPBBA can assist you to determine the relevant committee of management.

Foreshore Committees

Each beach along the Mornington Peninsula is managed by a Committee of Management. There are four committees of management, each with their own policies and fee structure. The committees of management are appointed by and responsible to DEECA for managing Crown land.

Foreshore Committees are responsible for the overall management of the foreshore including camping sites, access to toilets, and of course, beach boxes.
